Mickey Rourke is convinced Megan Fox is unfairly criticized over her acting skills “because she’s beautiful”.

The Wrestler star has teamed up with the 23 year old for new movie Passion Play, and the actor admits he has been astounded by Fox’s talent.

And Rourke is adamant the Transformers star is a clean-living, promising actress who is not given the recognition she deserves because of her good looks.

He says, “She doesn’t drink or do drugs. People say bad stuff about her and how she can’t act but they only say that because she’s beautiful. She’s the most talented actress I’ve worked with. When she cries in a scene, I get emotional.”

Megan Fox may be the angel Mickey Rourke needs.

In the upcoming film ‘Passion Plays,’ the ‘Transformers’ actress is set to play an angel to Oscar nominee Rourke, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film is set in 1950s Los Angeles and follows a down-on-his-luck trumpet player (Rourke) who meets an angel (Fox) who he attempts to save from a gangster to receive redemption.

The indie drama — written and directed by Mitch Glazer (‘The Recruit,’ ‘Scrooged’) — has Fox’s character in the film looking like “a slender beauty with wings who is part of a carnival,” THR.com reports.

As of yet, no production date has been reported for ‘Passion Plays.’
