Leonardo DiCaprio, along with fellow advocates Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, and Ke$ha, among others, have teamed up with WildAid, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Humane Society of the United States to bring attention to dwindling shark populations worldwide.
The foursome and a slew of others have written a letter to the California State Senate supporting Assembly Bill 376, which would ban the sale of shark fins in California.
“The International Union for the Conservation of Nature has concluded that a third of shark species are now threatened with extinction of some kind,” Leo, Scarlett, Megan, Kesha, and others celebrity advocates said in a letter to congress.
Leo further stated, “Despite fisheries attempts at regulation, the inhumane practice of finning continues unabated too, as does the illegal capture of sharks from marine reserves and sovereign waters.”
Others involved in the cause include Alexander Skarsgard, Rachel Bilson, Ian Somerhalder, Ben Stiller, and more.

Megan Fox has been given a second chance after being fired from the Transformers franchise — she’s set to work with Sacha Baron Cohen in his movie Dictator.
Things weren’t looking too good for Megan after it was revealed that Steven Spielberg was the guy behind her firing. After all, he produces almost everything that hits the silver screen (and he’s starting to take over the small screen, as well). However, Borat director Larry Charles sees something in Megan that others don’t – a comedy star.
Dictator is described as following the “heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.” Sacha Baron Cohen will be playing the role of the oppressor, a spoof of deceased dictator Saddam Hussein (it’s easy to imagine that his take on the character will be similar to Borat — if only the lovelorn American visitor had possessed palaces and power).
Dictator could also be a romantic comedy, since it’s based on a romance novel written by Saddam Hussein himself. In his book Zabibah and the King, he tells the story of a poor but pretty peasant girl whom the powerful leader of Iraq falls in love with. However, she is married to a very cruel man. It would basically be just your average fairytale if it weren’t for the fact that it is a thinly-veiled allegory — the Iraq leader is Saddam; the peasant girl is the Iraqi people; and her rape-happy husband is the U.S. (the rape symbolizes America’s invasion of Iraq).
There’s no word on what character Megan Fox will play in the movie, but it seems very likely that she will be Sacha Baron Cohen’s violated love interest (however, actress Anna Faris is also attached to the film).
The project is definitely sounding rather intriguing, especially since it has to be more scripted than Borat and Bruno, which relied heavily on reactions of real people to Cohen’s outrageous characters. And Megan Fox’s presence in the movie is definitely interesting — after all, the movie seems similar to Charlie Chaplin’s Hitler spoof film The Great Dictator, and Fox did get fired for comparing Michael Bay to the fuehrer. Surely, there’s got to be a joke in there somewhere.

Last year, when news broke that Megan Fox would no longer appear in the “Transformers” film franchise, the actress insisted it was because she had decided to “not to return.” But film director Michael Bay says it was her controversial comments that cost her the role that made her famous.
“You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, ‘fire her right now,’” the Daily Mail quoted Bay as saying.
Back in 2009, Fox infamously compared Bay to Hitler on set.
“He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation,” she said. “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him.”
Fox was later replaced with Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
