The actor said the pair went out after he became obsessed with her – but the brief relationship failed to get past a first date. “(I was) filming a sword fight when I got the (text) message. I said to myself, ‘Can this be my life?’” Shia told Playboy magazine. “It never got beyond one date. The spark wasn’t there. We weren’t passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends.” The actor also revealed that he had turned down the opportunity to hook up with his Transformers co-star Megan Fox. Shia said he and Megan had put aside a mutual attraction in order to focus on their respective careers. “We were very smart. We’re attracted to each other, and I think you can see that in our scenes together,” he said. “It’s very real and tangible, and you can tell something exists. “We could be shooting, and the relationship is suddenly on the rocks and then what? So we just never did anything about it.” |
